This series an ongoing visual conversation of the intrinsic relationship between Earth and our Bodies — inspired by a scar on my arm that was seconds away from taking my life when I was three years old. My perception of vanity and my relationship to my body was greatly influenced by wearing a scar that traced along my wrist to my neck as a coming-of-age girl. I began to feel connected to the scar as I grew older and noticed that textures and patterns of earth are remarkably similar to it. Then, I started to see this relationship in the many other ways that our bodies change, grow, stretch and scar as we age; just as earth does.

This series tells a visual story of the way our bodies mimic textures of earth over time.

‘Bodies and Earth’ has been featured in Sola Journal, and Safelight Paper Magazine.
